glass of wine being poured at wine bar in raleigh

When moving to a new area, there are sure to be a few things you’re looking for:

  • Great schools for the kiddos
  • A diverse community
  • Well established infrastructure
  • Little to no crime
  • And wine bars (obviously)

All jokes aside, if food, wine, entertainment and culture are important to your lifestyle, finding a spot to enjoy a glass of wine with good company IS a priority.

When it comes to wine bars in Raleigh, one member of our team considers herself to be an expert.

Having lived in California for most of my life, I acquired a love for wine. My husband and I enjoyed going to the Napa region, visiting some of our favorite vineyards, tasting delicious wine over the years. Well, we relocated to Raleigh over a decade ago and no longer had Napa in our backyard. What’s a California couple to do? Sure, we’d continue to receive our monthly wine membership boxes but we wanted more. We missed our wine experience. So, we set out to uncover the best wine bars in our Raleigh backyard.” – Andrea Giangrosso Buyers Agent & Broker at Spencer Properties.

The following is what they found.

Voted “Best Place To Grab A Sip Of Wine In Raleigh” – Vinos Finos Tapas & Wine Bar

One of Andrea’s favorites is Vinos Finos Tapas & Wine Bar located in North Raleigh’s Lafayette
. Consistently recognized on lists like “Best Place to Grab a Sip of Wine’ or ‘Best Wine Bars in Raleigh” Vinos Finos isn’t just Andrea’s favorite, it’s a community favorite.

If you’re looking for savory food, great wine, and warm friendly people, Vinos Finos is worth checking out. As a South American Wine and Tapas Bar, Vinos Finos offers a wide selection of fine South American wines and a menu of tapas, meats and cheese platters, empanadas, and desserts to pair. Not only is the wine and food something great, the environment is intimate, cozy and ideal for date nights or gathering with friends.

Whether you consider yourself to be a wine connoisseur or you’re relatively new to the wine scene, Vinos Finos’ staff is knowledgeable when it comes to recommendations and pairings. Which to be honest, makes for the best wine bar experiences.

Andrea suggests ordering a flight and a few small plates to experience some seriously delicious flavors. Her top picks for small plates? The flatbreads and empanadas. She also mentions planning to go on a Thursday for live music.

“Changing The Taste Of Wine Into An Experience” – Uncorked Wine and Coffee Cafe Raleigh

Uncorked Wine and Coffee Cafe is a local wine bar located just outside the Falls River at Bedford neighborhood in North Raleigh. The people at Uncorked pride themselves on providing customers with a relaxed atmosphere of wine, food, beer, coffee, and good company.

With a rotating selection of 48 tapped bottles and three different pour sizes, customers can “self-serve” themselves a quick taste or a full glass (think fro-yo style). The owners of Uncorked pride themselves on selecting non-traditional labels so visitors are encouraged to try something new or out of the norm. At Uncorked, the owners invest heavily in bringing Raleigh locals a one of a kind wine experience – and that they do.

At Uncorked they’re not just serving up great wine. The also cater to those looking for a bite to eat in a casual dining environment. Their traditional menu compliments their wines and beers and features sharing plates, salads, flatbreads, and more. Looking to dine “al fresco” on a warm North Carolina evening, grab a seat on their outdoor patio.
