Uncorked: One of Our Favorite North Raleigh Wine Bars

Having lived in California for most of my life, I have acquired the love for wine. My husband and I enjoyed going to the Napa region, visiting some of our favorite vineyards, tasting delicious wine over the years. When we relocated to Raleigh almost 9 years, we brought a piece of the Napa Valley with us as wine club members receiving our monthly does of some of our favorite. So whats a California couple going to do without Napa in our backyard? We set out to discover some of the best wine bars in our Raleigh backyard.

One of my personal favorites is Vinos Finos Tapas & Wine Bar located in Lafayette Village in North Raleigh. Just this past year they were voted the Best Place to Grab a Sip of Wine…and isn’t that the truth! Offering South American Wines and Argentinian Food, this cozy spot is a great place for a date night or gathering with friends. Order a flight and experience some delicious flavors, while pairing with a few yummy bites.

My husband who salivates for anything pimiento cheese, absolutely loves the pimento cheese crock. I, on the other hand, love their flat breads and empanadas. Their selection of wines is incredible, and the staff is so knowledgeable. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, or just desiring to learn more about wines, Vinos Finos is perfect. Thursday nights got so much better with their addition of live music. Swirling and sipping their rich, velvety Malbec, listening to live music, while eating our Paella… all is right in this very moment!

Another North Raleigh wine bar, Uncorked Wine and Coffee Café, owned by Janine and Paul is located in a shopping center outside the neighborhoods of Falls River and Bedford. Uncorked offers wine on tap (which I love!) and food as well. Their outdoor patio offers a great area to hang out on those warm evenings or crisp fall nights! I’ve always been accustomed to having a wane poured directly into my glass from the bottle, however with wine on tap, that’s not the case. Prepay and receive your “credit like card” and you’re free to begin tasting. Why pay for a full glass of wine especially if you don’t know how it tastes.

At Uncorked, you can pay for a 2 oz. tasting pour, and depending on the wine, cost ranges between $2-$5. And of course, after tasting and selecting your favorite wine, a larger pour is available. A friendly, fun atmosphere, this local stop with domestic and international wine selections is the place to go.

As a broker for Spencer Properties, knowing about Raleigh Real Estate is imperative, but knowing the Raleigh area and all that it offers is just as important. In discovering Raleigh over the years, I realize how much I’m in love with this city. Raleigh…rocks! So, the next time you’re out and about, and looking for a glass of wine, be sure to stop in Vinos Finos or Uncorked. You’ll be a fan too!
